Our Doctors

Dr. Michael Kotkin is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and has been in practice in Glen Cove since 1981. He was appointed to the voluntary staff at Glen Cove Hospital, part of the Northwell Health System in 1984. His scope of practice includes Geriatric and Diabetic foot care as well as all other aspects of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kotkin makes house calls to patients that are unable to get into the office to see him.

Dr. Kotkin is a 1975 graduate of Syracuse University with a BA degree in Psychology. In 1979 he was granted a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kotkin completed two years of post- graduate training in Orlando Florida under the supervision of Dr. Fred Pearl and was appointed to the staff of Orlando General Hospital in 1979.

Dr. Kotkin is married and lives in Bayville and maintains an office there as well. Over the years, Dr. Kotkin has been a volunteer, Board Member, as well as a Past President of North Country Reform Temple in Glen Cove.

Dr. Lawrence S. Ostroff, D.P.M. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, in private practice for over 25 years. While Dr. Ostroff specializes in all aspects of podiatry, his areas of interests are: biomechanics, sports medicine, pediatric sports injuries, and maintaining an active lifestyle in his geriatric and diabetic patients. He focuses on the entire patient, taking a holistic view. Keying in on nutrition, proper footwear and orthotic therapy and life factors which greatly impact lower extremity health. In Seniors, there’s an extra emphasis on balance and fall prevention.

On staff at Glen Cove Hospital, part of the Northwell Health System where he performs surgery and conducts rounds. Dr. Ostroff also continues to conduct house calls for patients that are not able to get to the office to see him. He prides himself in this extra level of care.

Dr Ostroff began his professional career, after a completing his surgical residency at JFK Memorial Hospital in Washington Township, NJ. He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1989 and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the State University of NY at Albany in 1985.

Dr. Ostroff currently lives in Bayville, with his wife and 2 daughters. In his spare time, he’s an avid gardener and handyman who also loves travel, home brewing and trivia.

Dr. Alan Morris, DPM has been in practice in Glen Cove, since 1995. He is Board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Morris is the former Chief of the Division of Podiatry Surgery and the Director of the Podiatry Clinic at Northwell Health’s Glen Cove Hospital. He is also the former on-site director for the Podiatric Surgery Residency program and a preceptor for the Family Practice Residency program. In addition, he is a past president of the Medical Staff.

While practicing all aspects of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Morris’s clinical interests and expertise include diabetic foot care, wound care and limb salvage, sports medicine and pediatric foot care.

He attended Union College in Schenectady, NY and received his BS degree in the double major of History and Biology. Dr. Morris is a 1990 graduate of the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, and completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency at Metropolitan Hospital/Franklin Square Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Morris lives in Commack with his wife and two sons. He was a long time volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, and is the Scoutmaster of Troop 403 in East Northport, NY. Dr Morris and his family spend as much time as possible in the outdoors, camping, hiking, or skiing
